"The Core" is made primarily from "found objects." The granite was rescued from the discard pile behind a granite countertop fabricator's shop; the inlaid heat sink was from a discarded pentium computer. The base was purchased from a sculpting supplies dealer. Note how the voids in the heat sink allow incident light to pass illuminating the space behind the sculpture.
